Celebrate Independence Day the B'ham way!


Happy Independence Day, Birmingham! It's time to celebrate the 4th of July and the Birmingham area has no shortage of great events! From celebrating 1776 style at American Village, having brews with friends at Trim Tab, or enjoying America's favorite pastime at Regions Field, there are a LOT of events to keep you busy! There are also multiple fireworks shows going on. This will be capped off by one of Birmingham's BEST traditions,Thunder on the Mountain, in the sky above Vulcan himself! Coyote Drive-In Celebrations

Independence Day with the Barons

Celebrate Independence Day a day early at Regions Field on Monday, July 3rd as the Barons host the Biloxi Shuckers at 6:30pm. Fan favorite Jake the Diamond Dog will be in attendance entertaining fans throughout the game. Following the game we have a special Patriotic Fireworks show to celebrate our nation’s birthday. Check out this special deal - for just $25 you can get an All-American Meal and access to the Party Deck and Party Suites. The Annual fireworks show on the water is here! Regular entrance fees apply from 7am until 4pm. At 4pm we will offer a special entrance fee of $15 per car load! Carpool with friends and family for the best price! Remember, gates take CASH only! Grab a good spot and enjoy the day as you wait for the show! Gates will CLOSE to the public at 7:30pm. Homewood Festival

Downtown Homewood is one of the best locations in the entire metro Birmingham area to view the “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks show from Vulcan Park. Two blocks of 18th Street South & One block of 29th Ave South will be blocked for pedestrian traffic in Downtown Homewood to make way for rides and attractions. The festival opens to the general public at 5:00pm. There will be a combination of inflatables/rides placed in the streets that will appeal to children of all ages. The City of Hoover is hosting 'Freedom Fest' featuring a car show, a kid’s zone with inflatables and face-painting, Zooperstars, convenient on-site parking, stadium seating, and a variety of concessions! Thunder on the Mountain

For decades, Thunder on the Mountain has been hailed as one of the largest and most extravagant Independence Day traditions in the state of Alabama—and this year will be no exception. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 9 pm, Thunder on the Mountain 2017 will once again illuminate the skies above Birmingham’s beloved iron man, Vulcan. Free to the public, this year’s show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a variety of firework shells that will brighten the sky with new colors and patterns. The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites and popular music. More info here.
