Romanian Food FestRomanian Food Festival

Try some Romanian and Transylvanian food! Pay just $5.00 and get any of the foods you want. First come first served. There will be cakes, soups, appetizers, and main dishes. That’s right, the food is selling for just $5.00 a plate. They will also be making naturally colored eggs for Resurrection DAY. Bring your family and your appetite!

Join Magic City Harvest at Cahaba Brewing Co. to celebrate the 16th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser. For only $18, you can make an impact in your community. Come for food, beer, games, and fun! Enjoy a rice or salad bowl dinner with a beautifully hand-crafted ceramic dish made by local students and artists. Additionally, a portion of each beer purchase will go to support Magic City Harvest’s mission during the event. The ceramic bowl is complimentary, reminding us of the hunger we wish to end, with the hope of building healthier communities.

Hosted by the Birmingham Public Library, in partnership with the Friends Foundation of the Birmingham Public Library, Reading Between the Wines will highlight National Library Week, emphasize the importance of libraries, and encourage support for the Birmingham Public Library system. Kitty Kat Haven 5kKitty Kat Haven 5k & Meow-A-thon

The Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue 5K Meow-A-Thon is a 5k race and the Whisker Walk is a 1 mile fun run/walk benefiting Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, a no-kill, cage-free shelter for cats and kittens. The race will be held Saturday at Veterans Park in Hoover. Veterans Park offers a varied terrain for running, including fields, trails and pavement. The race will be held rain or shine. Check-in begins at 8:00 am. The 5K Meow-A-Thon will start at 9:00 am. The 1 mile Whisker walk/run will start at 10:30. This will allow time for 5k awards and to allow 5k runners to participate with family in the whisker walk!
