This Sunday, March 11th, Red Mountain Park will welcome guests with extra incentive to get out and explore the 15 miles of trail. Ten prizes will be planted throughout the Park’s 1,500 acres; prizes include Park shirts, water bottles and Kaul Adventure Tower Mega Zip passes. Food trucks will be present in the event area at the front of the Park. The Park will also shift to extended hours, closing two hours later at 7:00 p.m.

Birmingham AL Hiking TrailSunday Hike: High Ore Line Trial

Join in the Spring 2018 Sunday Hike Series! These guided hikes are free and great opportunities to explore new outdoor places throughout Central Alabama. No registration required. Dogs welcome on leashes. In case of bad weather, updates will be on Facebook before noon on the day of the hike. Spanning two miles from Midfield to Wenonah Road near Red Mountain, the High Ore Line Trail opened in May 2016 and occupies a raised railroad line. The beautiful urban trail connects west Birmingham to Midfield and passes over Valley Creek with a glimpse of Red Mountain Park – to which the trail will soon be connected!
