Looking for some spooky fun this Halloween weekend? We’ve got you covered! Here are some eerie events to help you celebrate from now until Halloween! Don’t forget it’s also both Dia de Los Muertos and Moss Rock weekend! These are two of our favorite Birmingham events!

Spookfest

Come enjoy a fun night with music, food, trick-or-treating, giveaways, and more! This event is fun for all ages! Come dressed to impress in your Halloween best! This will be a great way for the kids to get their candy and be home at a decent hour!

Dead Man’s Party

This is an ALL AGES EVENT! Sidewalk Cinema is wrapping up their Stephen King Filmmaker Focus series with a Shining-themed Dead Man’s Party! Experience a haunted Overlook Hotel atmosphere in the basement of the Pizitz at the Sidewalk Cinema on Halloween night. Enjoy Spooky Games, a Costume Contest, Specialty Cocktails + Mocktails, and Themed Lobby Programming.
5:00 PM – Complimentary Drink Tastings featuring Easy Hemp Co., Trunk Tea, and Sunboy
7:00 PM – Halloween Charades and an In-Person Costume Contest with prizes!

Pizitz After Dark: Halloween

Turn down the lights and turn up the volume! Grab your costumes and join the Pizitz for this Halloween party. Enjoy Spooky Cocktails + more from The Louis Bar and dance the night away. There will be a cash prize costume contest for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place winners and music by Brothers from Rio. There will even be special performers on deck from Luminarts Entertainment! No cover for the event means you can enjoy all the spooky fun without breaking the bank. Oh, and the Sidewalk Party is right downstairs! Two spooky events under one roof!

Vulcan’s Spooktacular (21+)

Get ready for a spooky good time! Join Vulcan’s Junior Board for an adults-only Spooktacular Halloween Party on October 31 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Vulcan Park & Museum! The fun happens in the Electra room and includes a DJ, costume contest, Halloween-themed mixology experience, and more! Tickets are $45 per person or $80 for two. Ticket purchase includes food and two drinks. Celebrate Halloween night in style while enjoying stunning views of Birmingham at this exciting addition to Vulcan’s second annual Spooktacular event!

Homecoming Tailgate: UAB vs Tulsa

Looking for a great way to get geared up before each UAB football home game? Head to the rooftop of Uptown Cantina throughout the 2024 season for food, drinks, and live entertainment! Single game Alumni Tailgate passes for the UAB vs. Tulsa game on Saturday, November 2, 2024, are available for $25 through Friday, November 1, 2024. The tailgate will open 2-1/2 hours prior to kickoff and close 30 minutes before game time. A limited number of passes may be purchased for $30 on game day depending on availability - visit the place between Uptown Cantina and Texas de Brazil to purchase on-site passes. Tailgate passes DO NOT include a game ticket or parking. See below for information on how to purchase game tickets.

Fall Food & Wine Festival

Come check out local vendors, food trucks, live music, great food and wine from CFW, several photo opportunities - it'll be a BLAST! This is a come-and-go style event, so you’re able to enjoy the event when you’re able! The winery will be open only for this event and is a ticketed event ONLY. With limited tickets available at the door, we highly encourage that tickets are purchased in advance! This event is RAIN OR SHINE! Tickets are $25 for adults(21+) or $2 for children(<21). Adult tickets include 2 drink tickets, Corbin Cash(valid towards any purchase made with the winery on 11/02/24), and a stemless wine glass in a Corbin Farms tote bag! Child’s Ticket includes a ticket for a soft drink.

Dia de los Muertos 22

Bare Hands, Inc.’s Día de los Muertos festival is one of the most intricate Day of the Dead celebrations in the Southeast. From massive art installations, music and dance performances and beautiful costumes to a parade procession with puppets, homemade memorial altars (ofrendas) and food trucks, Día de los Muertos Número 22 will be an event you do not want to miss! Gates open at 3 p.m. and attendees will see performances by Premier de America Mariachi, San Francisco Xavier Ballet Folklórico, Danza Azteca Xochipilli and Flama Hidalguense. Tickets are on sale now for $15 in advance. Children 12 years of age and younger are admitted free. Prices will increase to $20 at the gate and online starting Nov. 2. Tickets purchased in advance are only valid for their respective date. Pets and coolers are not permitted.

Bluegrass at the Park

Head to the Discover Shelby Pavilion on Sunday, November 3rd at 2 PM for another fun bluegrass jam!! This will be a low-key gathering for bluegrass artists to network, share their music or music they love, and enjoy a relaxing few hours together! Bring your instrument, some water and snacks if you'd like and a favorite tune to share with the group! There is no cost to attend but you will be responsible for paying park entry fees. Open to all! Bring an instrument or bring a folding chair!
