Halloween Weekend 2025!

Halloween, Moss Rock Festival, and Dia de Los Muertos! 

This might be the most exciting weekend of the season! Not only are there a TON of Halloween events this week, but we also get Moss Rock Festival and one of the BEST Dia de los Muertos celebrations in the country!  The Birmingham Day of the Dead festival is always on our “must attend” list each year. It literally feels like a scene out of the Disney film Coco.  Be sure to catch the incredible artists and the legendary Beer Garden at Moss Rock Festival. On top of all of that we’ll have the BOO 28 Halloween Party at B&A warehouse as well as Milk & Honey at Saturn! One thing is guaranteed, we’re going to be EXHAUSTED by Sunday night!  Check out these and other great local events below!

If you weren’t aware, Sidewalk Film Festival & Cinema, a 501c3, had a $25k pre-approved federal grant clawed back because of their dedication to inclusivity in their programing.  The best thing you can do to help is to check out what’s going on at Sidewalk Cinema this weekend and buy tickets to their events and concessions once you arrive! They host all kinds of events like karaoke, FREE Bad Movie Nights, Knitflix & Chill, Pajama Brunches, and fantastic films! Didn’t get enough Halloween fun on Friday? Not to worry! WorkPlay is bringing you Here Come the Mummies! Here Come the Mummies is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5000 year-old Egyptian Mummies with a one-track mind. Their "Terrifying Funk from Beyond the Grave" is sure to get you into them (and possibly vice versa). Since their discovery, HCTM has been direct support for P-Funk, Al Green, Mavis Staples, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Cheap Trick; rocked Super Bowl Village; become a regular on The Bob and Tom Show; appeared on That’s My Jam with Jimmy Fallon; played massive festivals like Summer Fest, Summer Camp, Common Ground, Musikfest, and Suwannee Hulaween; and sold tickets by the thousands across large swaths of North America. Maybe that’s why the ladies (and some dudes) can’t stop losing their minds over these mayhem-inducing mavens of mirth.

Day of the Dead becomes Day of the Improv as ETC brings your favorite fast-paced improv games to life in Vulcan's Spookypants. This spirited evening of freakishly funny treats will conjure comedy from beyond the grave. Missing this one-night-only performance will haunt you for the rest of your days! It's a spooky version of the original short form improv show that started it all! Classic games like Party Quirks along with some new ones they've created combine to form a dynamite show that's chock full of laughs and full of Halloween fun. Join Bare Hands, Inc. as they honor life, memory, and community at one of the Southeast’s most vibrant Day of the Dead celebrations. From large-scale art installations and live music to traditional dance, colorful costumes, and a puppet-led procession, Día de los Muertos Número 23 is a can’t-miss experience. Enjoy handcrafted memorial altars (ofrendas), food trucks, dessert vendors, artist market, interactive art activities and more!  Dia de los Muertos is one of our favorite events in Birmingham and is on our “Must Attend” list for everyone each year!
