Banana Point at River Rocks Landing is a Hidden Gem!

Private Dock at Banana Point

If you’re driving across the Coosa River on 759 in Gadsden and gaze across the water, you’ll see a three story yellow house nestled on the water.  This is Banana Point at River Rocks Landing and it is a hidden gem for those wanting a great weekend getaway on the water within one hour of downtown Birmingham!

Grill and Hot Tub on the bank of the Coosa River.

We had the pleasure of staying here for a weekend with some of our friends! It was a fantastic opportunity to relax, have fun, and recharge from our busy day to day lives.  With a hot tub, a private dock, and access to the River Rocks Landing infinity pool, it was an oasis of quiet relaxation!

The focal point of River Rocks Landing is its stunning riverfront views. Banana Point at River Rocks Landing

Banana Point
At the end of the peninsula, behind a privacy gate, is Banana Point. It’s a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath home that makes for a fantastic getaway for family and friends!  It even has an elevator that stops on each floor!  This house is equipped with a pool table, a sauna, and a hot tub! It also has PLENTY of deck space with panoramic views of the Coosa River.

The Banana Point Peninsula

At the very tip on the peninsula there’s a fire pit. We highly recommend spending at least one night around the fire, surrounded by water and beneath a clear night sky. It’s in spots like these that you can reminisce with friends and make some great new memories.

A Heron catching breakfast on the Coosa River.

We also enjoyed watching the wildlife like herons, fish, and turtles, in their natural habitat. We even saw a heron spear a fish and eat it!
Banana Point has also been used for weddings, as the surroundings are picturesque and the house is a perfect spot for the wedding party to get ready!

Glamp it up!
River Rocks Landing also has a series of Tiny Home style cabins which are about 400 square feet.  They are located throughout the campground and provide a nice “glamping” style experience!  Each comes loaded with amenities, and allows for a great “camping” experience even in the heat of summer or cold of winter!  These are perfect for a weekend getaway to explore the Gadsden area.
The coolest of these is the Tree House and Tree Stump.  This is a tiny cabin that is like a vertical duplex! You can rent out the top floor that sleeps four, or the bottom floor (the Stump) that sleeps two.  If you have a group of six people, you can always check the availability and rent out both.  This one is a hit with kids!

Attractions
Gadsden, AL features quite a few fun attractions especially for those who love the outdoors!  The most famous is Noccalula Falls Park, a scenic park featuring a stunning 90-foot waterfall, hiking trails, picnic areas, and a botanical garden. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and families. I spent a lot of time here as a kid when in Gadsden visiting family.

You can also check out the shops and restaurants in Historic Downtown Gadsden, like Alabama Gift Company, as well as some fantastic dining options!  There’s also an Art Museum, Cultural Arts Center, and Imagination Place Children's Museum!
River Rocks Landing is also just a short drive from both Horse Pens 40 and Little River Canyon.

One Tank of Gas.
The best part of River Rocks Landing is that you can have a fantastic weekend escape on one tank of gas and with minimal travel time!  The cabins and Banana Point book up quickly in the summer once school lets out, but you can check the website HERE for availability and to go ahead and reserve a spot for a unique getaway!
