This weekend kicks off the Birmingham Halloween celebrations with the Rocky Horror Ball and other frightfully fun events! There are quite a few pet friendly events so that your four-legged friends can also enjoy some fall festivities. ASO has an 80s themed concert and the Bham Mac & Cheese Festival is this weekend as well.

Katztoberfest

It’s the 6th Annual Katztoberfest Fundraiser! There is no admission fee to come and join in the fun! They will have a commemorative t-shirt for sale as well as some great raffle items and merchandise tables with cat and non-cat themed items for sale. And Brock's Gap Brewing always graciously donates a portion of their proceeds for this evening to the Haven as well! So the more you come and eat and drink some tasty brews, the bigger the donation. It's a win-win scenario for everyone! Funds raised during this event will help to support our not for profit feline only rescue, Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue, a cage-free, no-kill shelter located in Hoover Alabama.

Magic City Mac & Cheese Festival

Community Grief Support’s Junior Board will host the 7th Annual Magic City Mac + Cheese Festival on Sunday! The Mac + Cheese Festival has become quite an anticipated and well-attended community event, and a tradition for the past six years. An estimated 3,000+ participants will taste various Mac + Cheese dishes from Birmingham’s favorite restaurants, food trucks, caterers, eateries, corporate teams, and home chefs. Emceed by Janice Rogers, WBRC Fox 6’s Good Day Alabama co-anchor, the M+C Festival is a family- and pet-friendly event, featuring live music by Southern Choice, a kid’s zone, including balloon artists, face painting, and more. There will also be local “Celebrity” and “Kid” judges to decide the overall Mac + Cheese winner. The People’s Choice will also be awarded.

Kick off Magic City Classic Week with a Homecoming event unlike any other! Join BMA for a jubilant festival of live music, food, and performances as we celebrate the opening of two exhibitions: Hayward Oubre: Structural Integrity and Determined to Be: The Sculpture of John Rhoden. As these two important artists share deep Alabama roots, the museum is excited to welcome their work home to Birmingham. In conjunction with Magic City Classic week, this event will have all the makings of a proper homecoming celebration including a warm welcome from the Lawson State Cheer Squad, a performance by Miles College Choir, a drumline experience, face painting, and food trucks – plus the added entertainment of two exciting exhibitions. This festival is FREE and open to the public!

Disney Concerts and AMP present “Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert;’ a cross-national tour where Encanto lovers of all ages have the opportunity to sing along with their favorite GRAMMY®-Award winning songs performed by a live band while watching the full film. Produced by AMP Worldwide, “Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert” will include all the music of the Academy Award®-winning film, including iconic hits like “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure” performed live. Live characters do not appear in this event. Fans are encouraged to dress up as Mirabel, Luisa, lsabela, or any of their favorite characters from the film and to use their voices to transform each venue into one big celebration of the Madrigal family.
