This weekend, there are plenty of fun events to enjoy after all of the turkey (and power naps!). We know that most everyone is either looking for something fun to do with their family or maybe trying to escape all of the commotion for a bit.  Here are some fantastic events to share with friends and family while you make some lasting holiday memories!  Gobble Gobble!!!

Glow Wild

Get carried away and experience Glow Wild, Birmingham's top holiday attraction! Watch the Zoo come alive with larger-than-life wild animal creations lighting up the night! This extraordinary event will be held on select nights from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. during the months of November, December, and January, sponsored by UAB Callahan Eye.
You’ll be able to enjoy larger-than-life animal lanterns around every corner, acrobatic shows nightly at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., new Virtual Reality movie experiences, the Red Diamond Express train, and a wide selection of food + drink options! (Be sure to try the adult hot chocolate!)

Homewood Coffee Trail

This holiday season, warm up with a festive twist on your coffee routine! Join the Homewood Holiday Coffee Trail and explore local coffee favorites while sipping on seasonal and regular drinks. Here's how it works: Starting Nov 29, pick up your Coffee Trail Card at any of the 8 participating coffee shops. Order a seasonal or regular menu drink at each participating shop. Get your card punched with each purchase! Once your card is complete, bring it to the Homewood Chamber of Commerce (7 Hollywood Blvd, Homewood, AL) by Dec 20 to claim a free Homewood Chamber of Commerce mug (while supplies last) and be entered into the Grand Prize Giveaway. The grand prize includes gift cards from every participating coffee shop and a one-night stay at the Valley Hotel!  Participating locations are: Frothy Monkey, Honest Coffee, Bitty & Beau’s, Caveat, O'Henry's, Farm Bowl, Valley Hotel Coffee Company, and Baba Java!

You can’t think of Christmas in Birmingham without thinking of the iconic designs on the side of the Regions Building! This has been a tradition for 40yrs, but this year they’re throwing a party! Head to Regions Plaza Friday night to celebrate as they flip the switch to light up the giant wreath, candy cane, stocking, and Christmas Tree!  Enjoy coffee, hot cocoa, live entertainment, and more at this festive celebration!

Shop local Saturday and support local artists! This year they’ve shortened the Merry Market hours because of a little football game a few of you are interested in, so come early!  They have also moved the event to the Montevallo High School practice field to accommodate more artists! We LOVE the town of Montevallo (PV!) and this is a great chance for you to check it out! Be sure to drive through the beautiful University campus and check out some cool tree carvings at Orr Park!

Iron Bowl Watch Party

On Saturday, Sidewalk Cinema is hosting a FREE Iron Bowl watch party! The game will be on the big screen, plus all 4 of the other extra large TV’s in the bar, lounge and lab. Kickoff is at 2:30pm, so be sure to arrive early and claim your seat! They’ll have food and drink specials plus their annual Black Friday sale going on so you can grab Sidewalk merch at a great price! Come enjoy this fun FREE event at CityWalk as they light up their Christmas tree! The event kicks off at 4pm with live entertainment and a vendor market. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 6pm followed by a Candlelight Carol Stroll to CityWalk Social for the rest of the fun! From 7-9pm enjoy Food Trucks, a DJ, Gaming, Selfie Station, and more! They’ll also have the Festival of Trees, a collection of Christmas trees sponsored and decorated by local businesses! We can’t wait to attend this event!
