At: Cahaba Brewing Co. (

An event that brings together Alabama's passion for good barbecue and the rich Latino communities in Birmingham. What happens at a pig roast? There's a lot that goes down before the food is ready to eat. First, they build a fire pit. Then, after seasoning the lechones, they slow cook them—for hours and hours (read, overnight). Those hours are a lot of fun. In fact, you might want to come grab a photo with the pig before everyone digs in!  Join in for juicy; tender pulled pork, delicious sides, family-friendly entertainment, and more. Plus, try the Cahaba del Rio beer—a Mexican larger beer by Cahaba Brewing Company brewed for the event. They’ll bring los lechones (those are the succulent pigs, ready to slow roast for hours). You bring your appetite. There will also be a vendor market on site to shop while you indulge in the delicious pork!  Welcome to the familia!
