Laughs for Literacy: A Fundraiser To Support The Literacy Council at Saturn!
Goulash Comedy is teaming with the Literacy Council of Central/North Alabama for a comedy benefit show to help the council raise money for the upcoming year. The comedy show is called Book Report! Comedians are assigned a book they have never read and then give a report on the book. There are a panel of “teachers” who grade each comedian’s book report. The winner takes home a prize!
This show is an amazing time for fans of comedy, literature and fun! The teachers for this show include: John Archibald, Celebrated Columnist for Alabama Media Group/Eunice Elliott, Anchor at WVTM13, Comedian, Author, Radio Personality/Joey Kennedy, Pulitzer Prize Winner & English Professor!

Bards & Brews returns to the downtown library for an Open Mic event on Friday, January 5th from 6:30p until about 9:00p. There will be beer from Cahaba Brewing, spoken word poetry, as well as a musical performance by Joshua Moore. As always, Master of Ceremonies Brian “Voice Porter” Hawkins will deftly guide both novice and veteran poets through an evening of verse with topics that may include relationships, politics, social justice, and the existential dilemma of whether or not pineapples are a berry or an aggregate fruit. This month there will be samples of brews from Cahaba Brewing Co.!

The first class in Redemptives Master Mechanic course covers all the details of wheels, tires, tubes, hubs, and spokes.
In-shop, pre-registration is required to participate. Registration is $100 for the 4 class series and includes a Park Tool textbook.
All class dates are published for 2018. If this date series does not work for you, consider joining them another time. Classes can be made up (with notice) at future dates.
