Join Oak Hill Cemetery for the first film of the year!. Thanks to a generous donation from a friend, Oak Hill will be showing its first licensed film. Tony Richardson's 1965 cult classic The Loved One is a parody of the American Deathcare industry and stars Robert Morse, Jonathan Winters, Anjanette Comer, and Rod Steiger. It also has several memorable cameos from a long list of other favorite Hollywood names of the time including John Gielgud, Roddy McDowell, Dana Andrews, James Coburn, Tab Hunter, Liberace and a boyish Paul Williams.
There will also be a performance by Birmingham’s own, The Murder of Jane Crow! The performance by Jane Crow will begin at 6:30, and the film will commence at 7:45.

Be among the first to take a deeper look at the BMA’s latest exhibition Magic City Realism: Richard Coe’s Birmingham. Katelyn D. Crawford, PhD, The William Cary Hulsey Curator of American Art, and special guest historian Marjorie White of the Birmingham Historical Society, will discuss Coe’s prints and paintings of industrial and residential scenes depicting Birmingham in the 1930’s. Find out what brought Coe to Birmingham, why these historic etchings are being presented for the first time, and which Birmingham landmarks played a central role in Coe’s work.

2nd Annual Vulcan Drink & Drop: Adult Egg Drop Event!

In conjunction with the 29th Annual Brent Newman Memorial Egg Drop, Vulcan Park & Museum will host its annual Drink & Drop adult egg drop competition! Science minded teams and individuals, over 21 that is, can try their hand at the classic elementary student competition. Can your team keep your egg protected while dropping it from a top Vulcan's 124 foot high pedestal?! The goal: to keep your egg from landing "sunny side up!"
There will be "bobble-butt" Vulcan trophies awarded for various categories!
Beer will be provided by Ghost Train Brewing Co. and soda/ waters supplied by Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. and last, but not least, JD & the Man will be rocking out with us!
