Halloween Weekend in the ‘Ham!
It’s the weekend before Halloween and there's a seemingly endless list of events to attend, so we've narrowed it down a bit for you! Head down to Revelator Coffee on 3rd Ave. N and show off your Latte art skills for a great cause! For just $5 you can compete to see if you have the best “Latte Art.” Proceeds from alcohol sales benefit the Birmingham Crisis Center. There will also be a costume contest and an after-party next door at Shu Shop! Can you whip up a spooky design?

Get ready for the Classic Kickoff block party and concert hosted by the Birmingham Urban League in downtown Birmingham! Support the universities and make this the place to be on Thursday night. Enjoy live entertainment beginning at 5 pm on the concert stage with local talent including Yung Vokalz and Just A Few Cats followed by Keke Wyatt and a national headliner. Event includes Alabama A&M and ASU cheerleaders leading the alumni call-outs, fashion shows, food trucks, activation booths and more!

Every year the Hoover Library pulls out all the stops to entertain and delight kids of all ages. This year is no different with the Nightmare Before Halloween bash: A Tim Burton themed party with games, activities, food, costumed characters and much much MORE! Burton is the mind behind spooky films such as“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Beetlejuice,” and more!
Come join in for some frightening fun and wear your favorite costume!

It's time for the Fifth Annual Grace House Pumpkin Festival, hosted by the Grace House Junior Board! Head over to Homewood Central Park for a day of fall fun benefiting Grace House's work with Alabama girls in foster care. Children's admission to the Festival is just $10 and adults are free! You will enjoy decorating pumpkins, bounce houses, face painting, trick-or-treating, and food vendors!

The Dia de los Muertos hosted by Alabama Multicultural Organization (AMOR) is the must-attend FREE pop-up outdoor cultural event of the Fall! Held outside in Birmingham's beautiful Rotary Trail in the downtown area. • Alcohol Free Event • Smoke Free Event • Small Friendly Dogs on Leash Allowed • Small Strollers Allowed • NO Picnic Baskets • NO Coolers • Free Public Event This one day festival is a FREE event that features community altars to remember our loved ones, local music scene, and latin food all with the Magic City as the backdrop. Featuring Birmingham local dance and music performances, latin food, crafters and artisans.

Join in for the last film of the season, and encore viewing of George Romero's 1968 cult classic, Night of the Living Dead! Suggested donation per person is $5, but feel free to be more generous, as the proceeds help Oak Hill to continue hosting films and other fun events at Birmingham's coolest cemetery. The gates will open at 5:30 and the film will begin at 6:30. If you’re brave enough, bring your blankets, snacks, beverages, and deck chairs, and come early to secure the best seating. Join the Five Points Alliance for its inaugural Historic Home Tour and Fall Festival which will take place in the Anderson Place Historic District located in Five Points South.The Five Points Alliance is using storytelling and architecture to lead Birmingham history lovers on a journey as they gain a deeper understanding of the history in Five Points South and discover why residents have chosen this as their home for so many years. You can also enjoy the Fall Festival! The centerpiece of the Fall Festival is a live-action pumpkin carving contest featuring up to 100 carvers who will compete for prizes in categories such as "Traditional Halloween," "Birmingham Landmarks," and "Pop Culture." There will also be a Grand Prize winner for the audience favorite: the illustrious Festival Pumpkin. Winners will receive some amazing prizes!
