The 47th Annual Greek Festival is set for October 3rd-5th 2019 from 10:30am-10:00pm. This is one of Birmingham’s oldest and most anticipated cultural events. The festival has been an act of love from Birmingham’s Greek community to the city of Birmingham going back four generations. During our three-day Festival you will experience the Greeks’ legendary zest for life and delicious authentic Greek cuisine. Awesome. Amazing. One of the best weekends of the year. That's how fans describe the annual Barber Vintage Festival. It's three days of electric crowds, eccentric finds and electric races. From the swap meet to Ace Corner, from the AMSOIL Fan Zone to the Royal Enfield Block Party, it's heaven on earth for the motorcycle enthusiast. The Bluff Park Art Show is held annually on the first Saturday of October. This FREE show has grown from 65 to more than 150 artists and attracts more than 10,000 people each year. Proceeds from the show will go toward improving the arts in the greater Birmingham area. Artists display their work from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. at the park at Shades Cliff - (517 Cloudland Drive in Hoover, Ala.) Shop for that special item for yourself or get a start on your Christmas shopping. In addition to art, food vendors are scattered throughout the park and music will fill the air. Enjoy the talents and sounds of Ashley Vourlotis and John Canada.

Each year the Cahaba River Society hosts a catfish cook-off and festival that's not only good for the planet, but also the palate! This event has become another staple in Birmingham's dynamic food scene! The Fry-Down is the Cahaba River Society's largest fundraiser, allowing Cahaba River Society to continue its work to restore and protect the Cahaba. This event features fun for all ages with a carnival-like atmosphere, live music, amazing food, a climbing wall, hula-hoopers, face-painters, educational games, wildlife demonstrations, a beer garden and more! Vulcan Park and Museum is proud to announce the final installment to the 15th Annual Vulcan AfterTunes fall concert series. Closing out this year’s series will be Christone "KINGFISH" Ingram , a popular blues artist from the Mississippi Delta with blistering guitar skills and soulful vocals. NPR Music describes Kingfish as “A rising blues prodigy…A torchbearer.” Opening up for kingfish will be homegrown Eric Essix, a Birmingham-based contemporary jazz guitarist.
