ASO Handel's Water MusicASO Unwind: Handel’s Water Music

Part of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s “Unwined” series, this casual concert partners the Symphony with Cahaba River Society, bringing people together for a healthier and cared for Cahaba River. Doors will open at 5pm for a social hour with a wine bar, information from Cahaba River Society, and the debut of a special film by Hunter Nichols that explores the connection between music and nature. From 6-7pm, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carlos Izcaray, will perform Handel’s Water Music, a piece known for highly spirited movements that were played on boats for 18th century “River Parties.”
Concerts are approximately an hour, seating is general admission, and one complimentary beverage is included with each paid adult ticket.

Jackie Lo takes you on an intergalactic road trip of absolutely free frenetic fancy and fun with Saturn's vintage 1960s bingo machine! Jokes will be had, gag gives will be grabbed, and mostly people will be screaming B-I-N-G-O at the top of their lungs a whole lot.

It’s a brand new year, let the games begin! BMA’s popular Game Night is back at Art After 5 with more board games than ever! Have some fun and make some new friends over games, gallery tours, art activities, and specialty cocktails! Feel free to BYO game to add to the mix! (Note: After the last game night, we found & purchased one of the games we played because it was so much fun!)

Birmingham Festival Theatre is proud to present A Weekend of Comedy featuring Birmingham’s finest comedians. Kick off Friday night, January 4, with some killer standup mixed with the hilarious Ugly Baby Improvisation company. Saturday, Extemporaneous Theatre company will conclude the weekend with amazing improv! The best way to start 2019 is with a lot of laughs!

Presenting the 2nd Annual Guinness Chili Cook-off! Contest is open to public! Cooking starts @12pm and Judging will begin @5pm! Chili must include Guinness & be cooked on site! This event will include an appearance by the Guinness Girls who will have plenty of swag! You can also get a glass engraved on site! Beer Hog is going all out for this one!

Cheesy pickup lines aside, this exhibition has all of the latest in guns, knives, ammo, survival equipment, and more! (I love a great pocket knife!) There will be plenty of vendors for you to shop. If you love hunting, outdoor activities, or want to prep for a zombie apocalypse, this is the place to be! Uniformed law enforcement and all active duty military personnel get in FREE!

Monster Jam Triple Threat Series brings adrenaline-charged family entertainment to fans across the country. These world-class Monster Jam vehicles and athletes deliver what fans want to see most...more trucks, more racing, more freestyle, more donuts, more wheelies, more action! Each event tests the versatility of the athletes as they go head-to-head in seven different competitions driving three different vehicles --- Monster Jam trucks, Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs. These athletes battle for points in challenging Racing and Freestyle events that push themselves and their machines to the limit.
