It’s the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing! Here are some far out events!

This weekend is the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing and there are a few ways you can celebrate! Enjoy a Pink Floyd laser light show, or some fun at McWane Science Center! These are just two of the fun events happenin’ this weekend!

Whimsy, a traveling matcha + coffee bar, will be at Pepper Place for the first time, along with Nuzzi Gelato ! Our friends at The Lumbar will be in the thick of Apollo Week 2019, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon-landing. Talk , meet, & greet Space Research Engineer Melissa Dooley at 6pm! Don’t miss blueroot co.'s pop-up for a Clean(er) Cocktail Hour where you can sample & try healthier cocktail choices from 5:30 - 6:30pm (and grab a superfood snack or two!). Dr. Sarah Parcak's new book, Archaeology from Space, was just released! Join her to celebrate the launch of the book on Thursday at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Dr. Parcak will read excerpts from the book and delve into more detail about her adventures. Every ticket purchase includes a signed copy of Archaeology from Space. VIP Tickets include a meet and greet session prior to the event. The Meet & Greet begins at 5:30pm. General Admission opens at 6:30pm.

The event will be held in the former Gus Mayer space at Brookwood Village.
