Appropriate
March 27-April 12
Cost: Free-$32
At: Theatre Downtown (
map)
Directed by Lesli Johnson. The Lafayette family gathers at their late father's crumbling plantation home in rural Arkansas to settle his estate. As estranged siblings reunite with their respective families, tensions quickly rise. Old resentments resurface, grievances are aired, and deep-seated wounds are reopened. Amidst the dysfunction, the family discovers disturbing relics of the past which force them to confront not only their father’s legacy but also their own complicity, biases, and assumptions. What begins as a typical Southern family drama evolves into a powerful confrontation with America's legacy of racism, memory, and inheritance. Blending dark comedy with sharp social commentary, the play exposes the uncomfortable truths that families, and societies, often try to bury.

HAPPY EASTER!!!
The words of Christ are quite clear:

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you an immigrant and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" Matt 25:37-40
