This weekend is PACKED with events all around town! Greek Fest is here, so get ready for delicious food! Furnace Fest is bringing a ton of people from all over the US to hear Jimmy Eat World, Dropkick Murphys, and more at Sloss Furnace. We’ll be judges for Cahaba River Fry Down at Cahaba Brewing and if you’re into motorcycles, Barber Vintage is going on all weekend. If you weren’t aware, Sidewalk Film Festival & Cinema, a 501c3, had a $25k pre-approved federal grant clawed back because of their dedication to inclusivity in their programing.  The best thing you can do to help is to check out what’s going on at Sidewalk Cinema this weekend and buy tickets to their events and concessions once you arrive! They host all kinds of events like karaoke, FREE Bad Movie Nights, Knitflix & Chill, Pajama Brunches, and fantastic films! Greek Festival

Become Greek for the weekend at the 52nd Annual Greek Food Festival set for October 2-4, 2025 from 10:30am-9:30pm. The Greek Festival is Birmingham’s oldest and most anticipated cultural event that offers an abundance of delicious Greek cuisine. The festival has been an act of love from Birmingham’s Greek community to the city going back four generations. Enjoy delicious Greek cuisine prepared by the parishioners of the community and served by them during the Greek Food Festival weekend. All entrees and desserts are homemade and prepared with only the freshest and finest ingredients available. In addition to the authentic Greek food you will enjoy Greek music, dancing, and a warm spirited atmosphere that embraces everyone as family. Furnace Fest returns to Sloss Furnace for 2025! This Punk Rock festival brings in a HUGE crowd of visitors from all over the United States and beyond for three days of fun! Sloss Furnace will come alive with punk rock vibes and maybe a few mosh pits! The headliners this year are incredible and include Jimmy Eat World, Dropkick Murphy’s, and Knocked Loose! This is such a great event and has an established community of festival goers who return to Birmingham every year to reunite with friends and have a great time! Haute Pink

Haute Pink presented by Alabama Power is the marquee fundraiser for Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center. Ten Alabama designers are paired with one of our special models to create a custom outfit for the fashion show. All of our models have been impacted by breast cancer as a survivor, co-survivor or previvor. On Friday, October 3rd at the Red Mountain Theatre Arts Campus, the models will walk the runway and then share the stage with their designer. Proceeds from Haute Pink benefit Forge's mission to support, empower and improve medical access, health outcomes and quality of life for Alabama breast cancer patients, survivors and those who love them from the day of diagnosis through the rest of life.

The 62nd Annual Bluff Park Art Show will be held on October 4 at the Bluff Park Community Park, 517 Cloudland Drive. The free event, presented by the Bluff Park Art Association, is held each year on the first Saturday of October. The show will feature 123 artists from across the United States. The mediums represented at this year’s show include clay, glass, jewelry, metalworking, painting, photography, printmaking, 2-D and 3-D mixed media, ceramics, and sculpture.

It’s Halloween Family Hours at Up-Down on Sunday, October 5th from 11am to 4pm. They’re opening their doors to all ages for an afternoon of games and costumes, with a little extra treat for the kids. Any child who comes in costume gets a giveaway at check-in. They will be serving pizza by the slice, soda, and other kid-friendly drinks, and the bar will be open for guests 21 and over. Games are still 25 cents or one token per play, so it’s an easy way to spend a fall afternoon together. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by someone 21 or older. At 4pm, the day shifts back to 21+ only.
