The best thing you can do to help is to check out what’s going on at Sidewalk Cinema this weekend and buy tickets to their events and concessions once you arrive! They host all kinds of events like karaoke, FREE Bad Movie Nights, Knitflix & Chill, Pajama Brunches, and fantastic films! Most of these events are either FREE or under $11 to attend. Celebrating Freedom: Juneteeth Party

Juneteenth is more than a date - it's a legacy, and the UAB Black Alumni Network is bringing it to life at the BAN Juneteenth Block Party. Join the fun on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 2-7 pm at Hemings. This celebration marks a powerful moment in history and brings alumni and friends together to reflect and reconnect. The Block Party is a mix of flavor and fun with food trucks serving local favorites and entertainment to keep the party going strong. Two DJs, one unforgettable soundtrack - Chris Coleman of 94.9 and DJ Skippo will keep the vibes going all day long.

The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?" by Edward Albee is a play about a successful architect, Martin, who seemingly has an ideal life with his wife and son, but his world is shattered when he confesses to his best friend that he is deeply in love with “Sylvia,” causing a devastating chain of events that destroys his family and reputation. This play has quite the twist and addresses societal topics through an over the top tale you won’t soon forget! Be sure to check the schedule for the “pay what you can” “Hobo Nights.”

Substrate Radio’s Jackie Lo takes you on an intergalactic road trip of absolutely free frenetic fancy and fun with Saturn's brand spanking new 1960s bingo time machine.
