Substrate Bingo

Free Substrate Bingo at Saturn! Substrate Radio’s Jackie Lo takes you on an intergalactic road trip of absolutely free frenetic fancy and fun with Saturn's brand spanking new 1960s bingo time machine. Jokes will be had, gag gives will be grabbed, and mostly people will be screaming B-I-N-G-O at the top of their lungs a whole lot. It took a year and a half to find an actual working vintage bingo hall machine and they love getting to use it. We promise this will be a ton of fun. See you there!

Art After 5: Emily in Paris

Bring a little Parisian flair to your Thursday night at Art After 5: Emily in Paris. Inspired by the series’ fashion-forward style, creative ambition, and social energy, this after-hours program invites guests to experience the Museum in a fresh and creative way. The evening includes themed cocktails, hands-on art activities, music, and a photo-ready moment. The galleries will also be open for self-guided exploration. This edition of Art After 5 is FREE and inspired by Monet to Matisse: French Moderns, 1850–1950, presented by PNC Bank, now on view in the Jemison Galleries, offering an opportunity to engage with French modern art alongside the program’s theme.

Classic Car Motoring, Ridez for A Reason, and Crowd Control bring to you the 4th Annual Irondale Auto Classic presented by Ward Brothers Motorsports! The beneficiary of this event is Racing for Children’s. Last year there were over 400 cars and they raised a little over $10,000 for the beneficiary. Come out and enjoy a day filled with beautiful rides and fellowship with like minded people in the auto community. They will have food vendors, auto vendors, and more.

Soothing Saturday offers a wellness experience where movement and mindfulness meet art. Led by Hayley Holdridge of In Bloom Yoga, this session features an accessible, slow-flow yoga practice inspired by traditional hatha yoga, along with a brief guided reflection. The program is thematically inspired by the painting “L’Envoûteuse (The Sorceress)” (1883) by Georges Merle, which serves as a visual point of reference for the session’s focus on personal strength. Designed for all levels, this program invites participants to slow down and experience the Museum in a restorative way.

15th Annual Salsa Showdown

Sidewalk’s 16th Annual Salsa Showdown will be held this Saturday at Cahaba Brewing Company! Eat all the chips and dip you can from local restaurants and vendors, then cast your ballots to crown the next champion! Admission price includes unlimited samples at each vendor’s station, a ballot for casting an Audience Choice vote, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and the (in)famous Hot Pepper Eating Contest with a cash prize. A night for teens, created by teens! Teen Night at the BMA is an evening of music, art activities, and Bib & Tucker’s annual Recycled Runway Fashion Show. Recycled Runway features teen designs, upcycled materials, and teen models, highlighting the importance of art, fashion, and teen voices in narrating stories of heritage, resilience, and creativity, while promoting sustainability. Additional activities include a silent disco, DJ, a scavenger hunt, art activities, and more. Beverages and light refreshments will be served. Parents and guardians are welcome. This event is for middle and high school students. All teens will have complimentary admission to Monet to Matisse: French Moderns, 1850–1950. The Recycled Runway Fashion Show will start at 7pm.
