Party on the Porch brings together local musicians, breweries, food trucks, and local businesses for an evening you do not want to miss! This is a family-friendly event, with activities for kids, a dog-friendly atmosphere, live music, good food, cornhole, giveaways, and loads of fun! Attendance is free, but they ask that of-age (21+) attendees donate (not required) $10 for a wristband and a souvenir cup with your donation going to a local non-profit organization at the event. Help support Friends of Shades Creek this month! They’ll have live music from The Ramble Trio as well as delicious food from the very popular Fat Charles BBQ, refreshing sweets from Nola Ice, and plenty of Good People brews!

Bards & Brews: Tribute to Voice Porter is a special open mic in dedication to our friend, the late Brian "Voice Porter" Hawkins, in honor of his birthday in June. Held in partnership with The Flourish at The Greenhouse in Ensley, Thed Weller will host that night & invite people to come up on stage & share poems & stories in memory of Voice Porter. There will also be a special performance by Arturo LaCruz, founder of Sol Musica, who was a friend of his & would provide music for Porter to perform his poetry to. Listen to local poets, friends, & loved ones perform live spoken word, honoring the life & legacy of Voice Porter in the city he loved. Bards & Brews is free & open to the public for attending & performing. Guests must be 18+ to enter & 21+ to drink with proof of I.D.

It’s time for the 2024 Birmingham Pride Parade! The parade starts at 8pm, but arrive early to get a great spot to watch the floats, dances, bands, and more!  The parade will start on 7th Ave South at 32nd St. and make its way down to Our Place. This is always such a festive event and it’s a great opportunity to support local restaurants in Lake View before the parade begins!
