You can watch some of the nation’s best baseball as the top teams battle it out for the 2019 SEC Baseball Tournament title May 21-26 at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium! This event also has family-friendly fun for all ages at the FanFest, free to the public and open every day of the tournament. Tickets start at just $18 and weekend passes are available.

Experience Oak Mountain State Park after dark! Go on this guided night hike and see what glows, calls, and crawls at night on the trails! SPECIAL GUEST Greg Harber with Birmingham Audubon will come along with us on the search for Night Jars, cool nocturnal birds! The group will meet at the Beach Access Parking Lot on Terrace Drive at 7:00pm! After a quick introduction you will begin the fun on the Treetop Nature Trail! Bring a Flashlight or Headlamp it will be dark! (Not stroller friendly. No pets please.)

You can view some of the mining relics, including an iron-ore crusher at mine #3. Ruffner Mountain was once home to the Sloss-Sheffield Mines, where iron-ore and limestone were extracted and sent to the blast furnaces at Sloss. The hike is over 3 miles total, usually about 3 hours, with moderate to difficult inclines and slopes. Adults and children 10 and up are welcome. We will meet at the Nature Center.
