Despite the insanely hot temperatures, this is the last official weekend before Fall arrives! Be sure to get out and enjoy all of the fun in and around Birmingham! From an EDM Festival, to an Arts Block Party, to a FREE festival & concert in East Lake Park, there is a ton of fun to be had in the Magic City this weekend! House Eleven has a great lineup of events spanning the whole weekend! Thursday Jazz Jam, Friday you can dance into the weekend with local DJ Flockwave. On Saturday you can enjoy a weekend soundtrack curated by local DJ Nano, and on Sunday Girls on Decks takes over House Eleven for a night built entirely around women behind the DJ decks! 2026 Arts Block Party

Mark your calendar for September 18 at 5 p.m. and join in for the biggest arts celebration of the season! The UAB Center for the Arts Block Party is a free, family-friendly evening filled with music, art, food, and fun for all ages. Enjoy local food trucks, creative vendors, live DJ music, and interactive experiences throughout the evening. The galleries at the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts will be open for guests to explore, while ArtPlay and UAB Arts in Medicine offer hands-on activities for kids and adults, along with a performance by ArtPlay’s A-Team. Plus, enjoy a free outdoor concert with Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience. Come celebrate the arts with us under the sun and stars!

PJ Party: The Neverending Story

This weekend you can see one of the BEST kid’s films of the 1980’s, “The Neverending Story!”   Film Synopsis: While hiding from bullies in his school’s attic, a young boy discovers the extraordinary land of Fantasia, through a magical book called The Neverending Story. The book tells the tale of Atreyu, a young warrior who, with the help of his trusty horse, Artax, and a luck dragon named Falkor, must save Fantasia from the destruction of The Nothing.

Rescuer Vendor Event is bringing together local firefighter owned businesses for an afternoon that’s all about supporting small businesses while helping us raise money for the Rescuer Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to future firefighters attending the Alabama Fire College.
