The Great Birmingham Bake-Off, Roller Derby, Spring Festivals, and more! 
This weekend is PACKED FULL of some great ways to get out and enjoy the Greater Bham Area! The Great Birmingham Bake-Off will be a chance to sample some sweets for a great cause, Tragic City Rollers are hosting a roller derby tournament, and Mt. Laurel is hosting their popular Spring Fest!  If you like DJs, Milk & Honey is Friday night at Saturn followed by a chill Garden Party Sunday afternoon at Wine Bar in the Loft District.

Trussville Spring Carnival

The carnival is heading to Trussville this weekend! Head over for some rides, games, and delicious carnival food! The carnival will be open 5-9pm Thursday & Friday, Saturday 1-10pm, and Sunday 1-5pm! You can ride all the rides for just $20. Wristbands will be available for CASH ONLY purchase at the gate and the event is “weather permitting.”

Party on the Porch

Party on the Porch brings together local musicians, breweries, food trucks, and local businesses for an evening you do not want to miss! This is a family-friendly event, with activities for kids, a dog-friendly atmosphere, live music, good food, cornhole, giveaways, and loads of fun! Attendance is free, but they ask that of-age (21+) attendees donate (not required) $10 for a wristband and a souvenir cup with your donation going to a local non-profit organization at the event. They’re kicking the 2025 season off strong and are celebrating 50 years of Alabama Outdoors! Enjoy live music from DeVine & Co., tasty bites from The Tako Truck and Cookie Plug, and cold Alabama Light from Alabama Beer Co.!

Barons vs Tenn Smokies

The Birmingham Barons will take on the Tenn Smokies as part of their opening Homestand of the season! Friday night will feature fireworks following the game. Regions Field has also updated their concessions menu and even have a Bo Jackson burger! The season will bring back popular theme nights like Wet Nose Wednesdays, Family Nights, and (of course) Thirsty Thursdays! Head to Monday Night Brewing this Saturday for a Pre-Game party at 3pm before the game!

In the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father’s funeral, the Turpins’ other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion. Amidst the chaos, the Turpins turn for comfort to their friends and neighbors, an eccentric community of misfits who just manage to pull together and help each other through their hours of need, and finally, the funeral.

Get ready to break out your neon spandex and join in for Mutt Strut, the most rad dog-friendly 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run happening on April 5th at Homewood Central Park! This year, they're turning up the retro vibes, so get your leg warmers, headbands, and furry companions ready for a totally tubular time. Whether you're a runner, walker, or just here for the furry fun, everyone's welcome to get physical and support the healing power of Animal-Assisted Therapy.
Mutt Strut will be a pawsome morning filled with upbeat tunes, vibrant 80s/90s outfits, and wagging tails as we come together to raise funds for the incredible work of Hand in Paw. Runners and walkers of all skill levels, dogs on leashes, and kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in this non-chipped race! Strollers are allowed on the race course. So, lace up your sneakers, leash up your furry friends, and strut your stuff for Hand in Paw. The award ceremony will be at 10:30am and the Vendor Village will stay open until noon!

Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Market

Bring your basket and be ready to have fun! This year's Easter Egg Hunt will be located off of Terrace Drive in the Multi-use Field by the Discover Shelby Pavilion! Oak Mountain will be celebrating and having a Hopping Good Time from 9am until 4pm on Saturday.  Everyone is welcome! There will be egg hunts for kids ages 0-10, divided up by age group. Shop local vendors at the Spring Market, get some food from on site food trucks, and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny!

Every step we take helps raise awareness about the substance use crisis affecting our community. TOGETHER WE CAN help save lives and build a stronger, healthier future for Birmingham and the state of Alabama. The END ADDICTION BHAM Walk presented by ETA is a FREE event hosted by the Addiction Prevention Coalition. This 9th annual event raises awareness and funds to help combat the addiction epidemic in Alabama. It’s FREE to attend and walk and $35 if you’d like to register and get a t-shirt.

Tickets are $25 for ages 21 and up, $10 for ages 4-20, and free for children under 4 with the purchase of an adult ticket. Ticket price includes food samples from local restaurants, beverages, and activities. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, and the event is rain or shine.
