With this heat, there’s no denying that Summer is here. Luckily we have some fun and cool events for you to enjoy! Lot’s of them are indoors and will provide a break from the summer sun.  The biggest event this week is Sloss Tech 2024!  At this event, leading industry experts will be speaking about multiple aspects of the technology sector, including AI, and how Birmingham can benefit!  Check the full list of events below!

Sidewalk ‘s SHOUT LGBTQ+ Film Week (June 26 - 30) showcases features, documentaries and short films that explore issues and situations involving the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer communities. Films have been playing all week long and will continue throughout the weekend.  We were lucky enough to screen a few of these during last year’s Sidewalk Film Festival and they were fantastic! Don’t miss out!

Tortoise and the Hare

Gradient Dance Theater & Community is proud to present Tortoise and the Hare! This classic story is told with a twist featuring choreography by Joanna Hardy-West, Taylor Ostronic, CJ Wade, Grace Kurosaka, and select 3rd through 6th grade students from Booker T. Washington Elementary K-8. This performance features new music from local Birmingham musicians, Post-Cool Art Collective. This quirky and energetic adaptation is fun for the whole family!
