**ASO Unwind: Handel’s Water Music Thurs, Jan 3, 5pm Cost: $30 At: Alys Stephen’s Center ([map](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Alys+Stephens+Center/@33.4971186,-86.8100338,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x88891be5c267abef:0x38c069c7a8b46d30!8m2!3d33.4971186!4d-86.8078397))** Part of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s “Unwined” series, this casual concert partners the Symphony with Cahaba River Society, bringing people together for a healthier and cared for Cahaba River. Doors will open at 5pm for a social hour with a wine bar, information from Cahaba River Society, and the debut of a special film by Hunter Nichols that explores the connection between music and nature. From 6-7pm, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carlos Izcaray, will perform Handel’s Water Music, a piece known for highly spirited movements that were played on boats for 18th century “River Parties.” Concerts are approximately an hour, seating is general admission, and one complimentary beverage is included with each paid adult ticket. **[Click here for more info.](https://www.facebook.com/events/2035147873479389/)**

Birmingham Festival Theatre is proud to present A Weekend of Comedy featuring Birmingham’s finest comedians. Kick off Friday night, January 4, with some killer standup mixed with the hilarious Ugly Baby Improvisation company. Saturday, Extemporaneous Theatre company will conclude the weekend with amazing improv! The best way to start 2019 is with a lot of laughs!
