Join BMA for a free lecture by Dr. Parcak, associate professor of anthropology and founding director of the Laboratory for Global Observation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Parcak's work has garnered international attention and earned her the 2016 TED Prize, a $1 million prize granted annually to an exceptional individual with a “wish to change the world.” With that prize, she founded GlobalXplorer, a nonprofit based here in Birmingham at the Innovation Depot. Come shake off the Halloween cobwebs and tour the brand new Back Forty Beer Company at Sloss Furnaces with Young Pioneers! You'll talk with the Back Forty Founder and CEO Jason Wilson and Back Forty BHAM Owner and CEO Doug Brown about the company, the beer, the history, and why they chose Birmingham. Back Forty Beer Company joined Birmingham's thriving craft beer scene with the opening of a new microbrewery at Sloss Docks this summer, bringing favorites like Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale and Naked Pig Pale Ale directly to the Ham. Doug Brown chose the location due to the dramatic views of Sloss Furnaces and the nearby active railway. Tickets are free. Delicious beer and food will available for purchase!

Benefitting Smile-A-Mile, the 4th Annual Sports Cars at Brookwood Village, presented by Birmingham Motoring Club, this year features the historic Jaguar marque.
