Official St. Patrick’s Day Guide for Birmingham!: 2020 Edition

In light of the current health situation, we are  trying to keep our event posts as up to date as possible. There have already been some big announcement about rescheduling events.  We will update this post as we are informed, but please double check the event pages via the "More Info" links provided in this post.
While we are sad that some amazing events are no longer taking place this weekend, the health of our community is always top priority.  
If you are at an event, please be sure to wash your hands, don't touch your face (we know, it's HARD!), and if you feel bad please avoid crowds.  We will be posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep you up to date on event rescheduling.

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here, but the celebrations start early! Check out all the ways you can enjoy the festivities in Birmingham! This is our favorite holiday to celebrate in Birmingham! From the Flag Raising, to the 6am “Kegs & Eggs” kick off to 24hrs of Madness, there is so much to do! A lot of these events are FREE or super cheap, so you don't have to spend a pot 'o gold to have a great time!

Five Points South St. Patrick's Celebration will take place March 9 - 17, 2020 in Birmingham's culinary district. Organized by The Five Points Alliance. #stpats5pts Five Points South has become home to Birmingham's Premier St Patrick's Day Celebration - come enjoy seven days of Irish drink and food specials, an Irish flag raising, The Great Birmingham Irish Toast, The 40th Annual Irish dinner, The 36th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and St. Pat's Day! 5th Annual Irish Flag Raising

Don’t miss the Five Points South St. Patrick's Celebration "5th Annual Irish Flag Raising and The Great Birmingham Irish Toast” organized by the Five Points Alliance! The ceremony starts at 5:30pm at the Chick-Fil-A flagpole in Five Points South and will be led by the Birmingham Irish Cultural Society. This event is an opportunity to pay tribute to this year's Parade Marshall and to kick-off the St. Patrick's Parade Day weekend. The ceremony will include a pipe performance, the announcement of this year's parade marshal and an Irish blessing from the local Irish community. Following the flag raising, a procession led by bagpipes will take the crowd over to Brennan's Irish Pub for "The Great Birmingham Irish Toast" with $5.00 Guinness pints and Tullamore Dew shots, while the toast will be lead by Birmingham Irish Cultural Society Chair, Marty Connors.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade Day!

Music starts at Noon with Ricko Donovan, then Hooley takes the stage at 3pm to treat you to some traditional celtic music. Bagpipers and drum corp arrive in the evening before Jasper Coal takes the stage around 9pm! Get VIP passes to get a shirt, swag, buffet, private bathrooms, and more! Plus, VIP also gets you 10% off your meal on Tuesday! This is definitley the BEST way to experience St. Patrick’s Day in 5pts. South!

Join the Avondale for their St. Patrick's Day Bash! They’ll have food, beer, and music all day long! Everyone is welcome to join! Admission is FREE and the festivities start at noon! This is a great option for those ballin’ on a budget! The team at Avondale always puts on a great party, so check it out!

St. Patrick’s Party w/ Red Shamrock

Join the folks at The Red Shamrock for a good time! The party starts this Saturday when the bar and kitchen open at 11am! Green beer, shot specials, Irish whisky specials, cocktails and more! Play some beer pong, darts, or ping pong! Enjoy live music from 3pm to midnight!! Head back over on Tuesday to continue the St. Patrick’s Day fun! The bar and kitchen open at 2pm with live music at 3pm to midnight that day as well!!  It’s going to be awesome! FREE to attend!

Lucky St. Patrick’s Day Crawl

This is a St. Patrick’s Day themed Bar Crawl with a $500 prize on the line! Check in at Sky Castle before working your way around to five different Lakeview venues. There will be swag and discounts along the way! Enter in the costume contest to compete for $500! The crawl is from 4-10pm. At 10pm head to Nana Funks for the epic after party! Get decked out and ready to have a great time!

It’s BACK! Kick of St. Patrick’s Day with us at the 17th annual Kegs & Eggs! Innisfree opens their doors at 6am(!) for FREE breakfast and St. Patrick’s Day swag! We’ve been doing this for over a decade now and always look forward to spending the morning on the patio! There will be bagpipers stopping by as well as cornhole! While the morning crowd is laid back, the night time crowd gets crazy!  Can you do the whole 24hrs!? Many have tried, few have succeeded. See you at 6am!

Our friends at Redmont are opening up The Roof for Beer Olympics! Enjoy $1 Green Budlights from 5-7PM. At 7PM they will have teams compete in the Beer Olympics! ($50 to enter a team of 5!)
