Hungry for restaurant info?

Ever since the CoronaVirus social distancing guidelines we have been fielding questions about local restaurants and how to best support them. Now, with the launch of Bhamnomnom.com, we have a great resource to pull from!

Creative Collaboration!

Bham Nom Nom is the result of the efforts of Birmingham Originals, Birmingham Restaurant Week, and Style Advertising! It is also being supported by Birmingham Mountain Radio and Tito’s Vodka. Instagift Birmingham is facilitating the Gift Card portion, which we’ll get to in just a bit.  The website is now live and serves to highlight how local restaurants in Birmingham and surrounding communities are adapting during the Covid19 pandemic.

How it works.

Once you arrive at the website you have the ability to browse your favorite local restaurants. You start off by selecting a city to see the restaurants in a specific area. As of the publication date of this post, Birmingham, Hoover, Homewood, Leeds, Mountain Brook, and Vestavia Hills are listed. Once you select the city you can then select a restaurant.
Each restaurant will have up to 5 icons to choose from.  The first three icons indicate availability of curbside service, delivery, and the recent “Bar to Go” option that everyone is so excited about!  These icons will be above the direct link to each restaurant website.   The two other icons you will see may be the most important!

Giving Back and Paying it Forward!

You will notice both a Card and a Heart icon next to each restaurant that’s listed. The card will take you to each restaurant’s Instagift.com page where you can purchase gift cards! Not only is this a great way to pay it forward, there are usually reward options that give you bonus cash on your gift card purchase! Five Point Public House and Ocean, for example, have both “Spend $50 get $20” and “Spend $100 get $40” options!
If you see a Heart icon, it’s for “Show Some Love” and will direct you to the restaurant’s GoFundMe page. Here you can donate directly to the staff who are feeling the brunt of the impact of the Covid19 Social Distancing guidelines.  If you feel led to donate, please leave a comment on the page with words of encouragement.

Own a Restaurant?

Some of you reading this post may own a local restaurant. If you’d like your restaurant to be listed you can fill out a quick form HERE. Someone will contact you and will help you get started on how to share your information with the Birmingham community.

Sharing is Caring!

We will continue to say it over and over. “One of the best ways to help out your local restaurants is to SHARE on social media! Share this post with your friends, post pics of your meals when you do curbside pickup or delivery, and buy a gift card to send to someone that needs a boost in morale!  Be sure to use the #bhamnomnom hashtag!  We look forward to using this website a LOT during the coming weeks!  We are going to make it through this, y’all, and we are going to do it while still enjoying delicious local food!
